For med spa owners
Your listing, on your terms
Rated Med Spas is an independent guide to DC-area med spas, ranked from public reviews — and your spa is likely already on it. Claiming is free, puts you in control of your profile, and never changes your rating or your rank. Here's the straight answer to everything owners ask.
Good to know
Frequently asked
- Is this like Yelp?
- No — we don't host reviews or take complaints. Rated Med Spas is an independent guide that takes the public review data that already exists, weighs it, and ranks every med spa in each town. Think “best-of issue of a city magazine,” not a review platform. If you're listed, it's because you're already in that public data.
- How did you get our information?
- Everything on your profile is public — the same information anyone finds on Google. That's exactly why it's worth a look: if anything's wrong, email us and we'll fix it same-day.
- What does it cost to claim our listing?
- Claiming is free — actually free, not trial-free. You verify you're the owner, correct anything that's off, and add your photos. That's the whole ask.
- So how do you make money?
- There's an optional paid placement — a clearly labeled Featured spot on a treatment page. But nothing paid ever touches anyone's rating or rank. Rankings are earned from public reviews, period. If ranks were for sale, being #1 would mean nothing — so they're not for sale.
- Can I pay to rank higher?
- No. And you wouldn't want to be on a site where anyone could — your #1 means something precisely because the spa down the street can't buy it out from under you.
- How is the ranking calculated?
- Public ratings weighted by review volume — a 4.9 from 400 reviews outranks a 5.0 from 12. It's math on public data, not opinion, and it updates as your reviews do. There's no thumb on the scale for anyone, including businesses that pay. The full method is on our How we rate page.
- There's a review dragging us down — can you remove it?
- We can't — we don't host the reviews, so we can't change what's on Google. Your rating here moves when your reviews there move. What you can control is everything else on your profile: photos, services, hours, and your description. Claim it and that part's yours.
- What do we actually get by claiming?
- Control and credit: your details verified and correct, your own photos instead of a bare listing, a “Claimed” badge so readers know the owner stands behind it, and a direct link to your booking. It takes about two minutes.
- Can you add our photos or update our services?
- Yes — email them to claims@ratedmedspas.com and we'll have them up same-day. It's handled personally, not through a form.
- Are you selling leads, or taking a cut of our bookings?
- No. Your profile links straight to your own phone and website — whoever finds you there is your customer, not our lead. We don't sit between you and the client.
- Who's behind this?
- It's a small, independent operation — built and run by hand from Great Falls, Virginia, under Ox Global. That's why you'll hear from a person, not an automated system.
- We're already busy — why bother claiming?
- Because it costs two minutes to make sure the site ranking you describes you correctly. People are comparing you against nearby spas on this page whether you've seen it or not — claiming just means your side of that comparison is the one you chose.
- Can you take our listing off the site?
- We'd rather fix whatever's prompting the ask — usually it's incorrect information, which we can correct right away. If after that you still want to discuss removal, email us directly.
- Are you going to spam us?
- No. You'll only hear from us if you ask a question or something on your profile changes. This is done by hand, one spa at a time.
